Movember is an annual event that began in 2004 with the aim of raising awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate and testicular cancer, blood pressure and suicide, and extends for a month in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, Spain, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, the United States of America, Taiwan and South Africa. The most important thing that distinguishes it is that the men participating in it release their mustaches, which is why it is called Movember, a name formed from a combination of the word Mustache, which means mustache in the English language, and the word November, which is the month in which it kicks off the event. Movember encourages men to detect cancer early through annual check-ups and family medical history, and seeks to reduce the number of deaths
